Letter from Finnland

Following e-mail we received from Mr. Hannu Vuorinen whose models seem to be very competitive to the best "wet" scale models; not only by beeing successful on many scale competitions but also using them for aerotowing.

Hello, Stanislav!

Greetings from Finland!
Found your very nice pages I would like to send you some photos from my large electric scale models.

I have a 1/4 J3 Cub, originally built from Sig kit. It has a powerplant with Actro 40-6 outrunner, prop size 19 x 8/12" and 20x11" (5300rpm) on 41A static at ground. Battery pack consist of 20 pieces of Kokam 3270mAh LiPol cells, in configuration 10 series and 2 parallel connection. Its flying weight is 6,35 kg
With this plane I won this year Finnish Scale Nationals Stand off scale Cup. It is also capable of aerotowing large scale gliders (up to 4 meters wingspan and 4 kg weight)

Also FW44 Stieglitz 1/5 scale (6,9 kg, 180cm wingspan) is my another electric competition model. It is actually ARC modell from K&W; Air, so I do have very little construction pictures.

I flew 2 F4C contests with Stieglitz during 2003 season and finally in F4C Finnish Cup I resulted 3rd place with it.

Attached also some pics of newest aerotow plane project, 2,25 meter Cessna Agwagon, powered by Flyware T-REX40-370, Kokam LiPol cells 10s3p 2000mAh (= 6000mAh capacity). This motor is designed for power levels of 1400W continous and 2100W peak - this is becouse of battery limitations (10C peak = 60A)

I have some other larger projects coming, 1:4 Cessna Agwagon for a F4C class model and posiibly later on coming one 4 meter size Piper Super Cub (14 kg AUW)

Best regards,

Hannu Vuorinen
