Remarks
Allwood design is extraordinary (at least for us) by using 0,4 mm ply for the
fuselage sides and turtle deck same as for smaller parts.
Also the gear is interesting - it is spring-loaded and made from brass tubes and
carbon rods. Wing and tail feathers is made of 1,5 mm balsa.
Our opinion
This nice bird is my current project, so be patiently. :-)

Classic ordinary design. Wing and tail feathers Křídlo without sheeting,

Our opinion
The plan is well drawn and seems to be good base for scaling up and bigger model
build. Is there somebody who will try it?

powerful S480 later.

Remarks
Very light design is typical for the author; the huge amount of rubber scale
models is visible in this design style. Also the original model color
scheme was made in the same style - covering using pieces of colored tissue.
But the proper look received the model after the covering reconstruction when
the colors were sprayed on what resulted in nice loking and perfect flying model.
Our opinion
I'm sure you will not go wrong with chosing this plan and everyone who saw the
prototype flying will sure agree with me. The designer's name is mark of quality
so you can build a model seen very seldom at the airfields.

Robbe Planeta 700 (gear included) Part 4187
3,7:1
Aeronaut 14 x 7
|
Remarks
It is recommended that you have some experience of 'conventional' balsa and
scale aeromodeling techniques. It is equipped with landing lights, Robart
retracts and a special hinge for separate V1 flying missile (as glider or ducted
fan). The average flying time is about 8 minutes.
Our opinion
This is really big bird for the experienced modellers. I'm sure there is a more
efficient and more suitable drive than geared "700", probably some of the MEGA L
line.

Our opinion
The plan can be used especially for the outlines that seems to be true scale but
the complete construction shall be lightened, especially the tail. The short
nose must also be taken in the account, so some building experience is
necessary. But this plane is worth of it!

Remarks
The airfoil is a flat bottomed Clark Y thinned to 10%. This looks scalish enough
and helps make the ailerons effective.
The 10 x CP1700 cells are arranged in 2 x 5 configuration side by side and then
covered in with heat shrink. The pack is bolted to the rear of of the firewall
what seems to be an ideal solution for short nose plane of this era.

Our opinion
There were a lot of pages of the Q&EFI magazine in 2002 dedicated to this
model. Light and clever design could be used as a source of ideas or "template"
for building similar or larger planes. Despite this model is on the lower border
of "large and larger" models area it can be a good step before building really
large model.

The original aerobatic Dalotel was designed in the late 60s but couldn't compete
against the Czechoslovak Zlins. However it became a popular design for a lot of
"scale aerobatics" fliers.

Remarks
The wing has NACA 2412 airfoil and used a foam core but a built up version is
shown on the plan. The eraer spar is straight but because of the wing taper,
results in 2° of washout. The landing gear is mounted in the wing.
The fuselage sides are 3mm (1/8") medium balsa, the doublers in the front acts
as a base for the battery pack. Motor mounting system is not indicated as there
are a lot of possible variations.
Our opinion
The model is well motored in the original configuration and according to
author's words it is capable for figures like "... Cuban 8s, reverse Cubans,
stall turns etc. Knife edge was not as good as expected maybe due to using too
much rudder and stalling the surface".
Sure it is not a 3D flyer, but for classic aerobatic fans it could be a good
tip.
